Small 19th C. Mustard Yellow Staved Berry Pail Beach Bucket
Here is a small 19th c. staved wooden pail, with the original mustard yellow paint. It measures approx. 5 & 1/2 inches tall, exclusive of the wire bail handle. I believe that it was originally used as a berry pail, but sometime in the 1920's or so, two children in bathing suits and a Scottie dog were painted on one side---apparently because it was being relegated for use as a toy sand pail.
If you like early painted treen ware, or even old sand pails, then this little bucket would be a colorful addition to your collection!
