18th C. Newburyport Sterling Silver Spoons
Here are two antique silver teaspoons, that measure approx. 6 inches long and 5 inches long, respectively. They are American, and they are both signed.
The larger bears the touch mark "WL", probably for William Little, Newburyport, Mass., c. 1775. (ref. Wyler, pg. 301) It has a coffin shaped handle with a beautiful old monogram. It is in very good condition, with no breaks or repairs, and has a nice mellow old patina. The bowl has some very light surface distress, which could probably be polished out if desired.
The second, smaller spoon, is marked " I . Moulton ", probably for Joseph Moulton II, also of Newburyport, Mass., c.1770. (ref. Wyler, pg.304) It is in very good condition, with no breaks or repairs. There is a tiny, sharp ding in the bowl, and a very, very slight dent. The handle has a nice old monogrammed "H".
I am selling both spoons for one price.
If you like Colonial silver or Americana with a Newburyport origin, then these old spoons would make a nice addition to your collection.
Price: $150.00 for both
